Cannes 2010 I was looking for an American Singer who sang in French and English about Paris with a 1940’s retro feel. No one I listened to had the right sound, except Blossom Deary, but royalties were too high.
I thought to myself, “ I can do that.” I had performed as a singer years ago and had stopped to pursue acting. Two weeks later while in Paris, I woke up in the middle of the night and wrote 12 songs. The Songs: “Paris Ooh la la”, “Comme si, Comme ça”, “Where Did You Go,” all in “Only in Paris”, were born that night. I had never written before. That same week I wrote 14 more. A week later I recorded 4 songs with musicians, Laurent La Rocca, and Ludovic Gaudez , whom I had met while searching for musicians in the South of France. The following week we gave a concert in Aix en Provence.
This was the start of the Album... “Judi... Ooh La La”, an eclectic mix of pop, soul, jazz, and rock, with a taste of Piaff..
